We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an interdisciplinary research project exploring ethical AI, governance, and policy development under the guidance of Dr. Zeenath Reza Khan (UOWD) and Professor Melodena Stephens (MBRSG, Dubai). This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research in AI transparency, accountability, and bias mitigation. This is a full-time role for the duration of the project from 2025-2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct secondary research on ethical AI and governance frameworks

• Organize focus groups and stakeholder discussions

• Analyze qualitative data and contribute to policy development

• Assist in drafting journal papers, policy briefs, and reports

• Support the development of an AI policy chatbot

• Collaborate with international institutions and industry partners

• Undertake tutorials in relevant subject areas for the School of Computer Science at UOWD based on the workload.

Essential Qualifications:

• PhD in a relevant field (Computer Science, AI Ethics, Law & Policy, Digital Humanities, or a related area).

• Experience in AI governance, policy development, or qualitative research

• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals

• Excellent analytical and writing skills

• Familiarity with LLMs and ethical AI frameworks is a plus

The University offers a monthly salary of AED 12,500. The package includes five weeks of paid leave per year, private medical insurance and annual airfare for the employee.
